June 2013 Blog - I know its shocking almost another 12 months has passed.

Just to let you know that I haven't been totally lazy - I send out regular mailshots to my existing customers and use Facebook and Twitter to interact with customers - but I do agree that I should also keep the blog going.

Just a quick update. Best selling yarns this seasons have been the All Seasons Cotton Chunky, SMC Select Reflect and Debbie Bliss Luxury Silk Prints - best selling pattern books (excluding Rowan of course) have been SMC Moments 022 (which is now sold out all over Europe - new stock due in by end of month) and Kim Hargreaves Sprit.
The Noro Sales are growing and I definitely think it is due to the introduction of the Noro Magazines.
The Bergere de France patterns are fantastic and sell well too.
I have been knitting quite a lot of baby garments this year as friends keep reproducing and I am also involved in a couple of charity events. The next one is at the Huyton Suite on the 29th of June - the charity is called Amy and Friends. If you are in the area call in - there is a range of local businesses selling crafts, fashion and edible goodies.

Annual Blog!! - No I'm Not Joking
I havent blogged for ages hence the title. I have been working on the business and also doing some contract IT work so something had to give. Sorry........
Enough whining!! I have just got the new Rowan Magazine 52 into stock and will be putting the yarn requirements onto my website this evening. I always get really excited when this book arrives as I can start planning my Autumn Winter Projects.

The Races, Easter, New Products, Website Update - the list is endless
Hi everybody, in the words of George Michael "yes Ive been bad" - haven't kept up with the blogging. In my defence I have been extremely busy.

I have updated my website. http://www.knitsinthecity.co.uk/ It looks the same but has a slightly different feel. It works a bit smoother in the background and you can now leave comments about the fabulous range of products and the levels of service you receive.

What can I say - we have had so many beautiful books and yarns in for the Spring Summer Season. My favourites are;

the books should be in stock any day now but the range of patterns is bang on trend. Monochrome colours and open stitch garments - lovely. The patterns (in my opinion) feel quite 80's and as the 80's were my hayday I know that the designs will suit me. I particularly love "Sheer" - don't know if I have still got the bod for it but wow wow wow!!!

The book cover itself is enough to make you want to buy it. Design 9 has been extremely popular although there is an error in the book and it doesn't show how much Aya is required to make the jacket. You will need between 12 to 16 balls depending upon your size. I also love the little tank tops.

has sold like hot cakes - there are a number of patterns for the new yarn Angel featured in it. I love this yarn and have made a small shrug in it. It is like Rowan Kidsilk Haze and I think I prefer it - it doesn't seem to shed as much when knitting it up.

I am constantly selling out of 3806 which is for Fairy Dolls. The Patons Fusion range of patterns and yarn have also been a great success.

THE RACES
As you all know I go to Aintree every year on Ladies Day. We decided to go in the new stand the Lord Sefton which overlooks the paddock so you can see the horses being paraded and walked though to the racecourse. Racehorses are magnificent athletes. My horse Treacle is just what it says on the tin - a Treacle Pudding compared to the lean mean racing machines.
The day was fabulous, the girls all looked fantastic, we didn't loose our shirts and we had seats. (If you are a woman reading this you will know the importance of the two words).
EASTER
Yes it has come around quickly. I am not doing anything special but am quite looking forward to the Easter Eggs. The Royal Wedding is also looming but the Wedding of the year is my friends special day in June. Cant Wait!! What to wear???
Got to go now - orders are starting to land.

A belated Happy New Year!!
New Years resolutions - Pah!! I fail within hours of setting them.
Hope everybody is well and has recovered from the festivities - I know you are all back at work now and looking forward to the next break.
Jan Feb and March are my busiest months and this January has not failed to deliver. We have the Sale, New Product launches and best of all lots of new scrummy yarns to play with.
Rowan Magazine No. 49
is now in stock. I took pre-orders for this book and these have all been despatched - demand has slowed down a bit now and I am selling approx 1 per day on average.
I am a fan of the winter knits more than the summer knits and as the weather is still cold I am still in the mode for warm knits -especially fancy accessories. However this book is a grower. Sometimes Rowan can WOW you - I loved the winter issue and then at other times a publication can grow on you.
I am looking forward to the Winter Designer Knitting Issue - pre orders are being taken - this magazine always sells well - there is a hat featured in the winter issue which is definitely going on my list. I love hats they take an evening to make, arent too expensive and make you look truly original.
As some of you are aware I am planning on doing a book - maybe hats will make a good subject matter?
The New Debbie Bliss magazine is set to launch early next month
this magazine is packed will all NEW patterns - the magazine has some fantastic designs for the new Angel Yarn - this is selling very well.
It is really cold here today and I am trying to summon up the courage to go and ride the horse. Better get on. I will try and blog more regularly. Have a great day.

Merry Christmas to all
Have been rubbish at Blogging this year. But on the flip side have been too busy to blog!!
I will be posting a list of special offers on Boxing Day so keep your eye out for a bargain. I think we could all do with saving a bit after the expense of Christmas, the looming VAT increase and also to have someting to knit during this terrible weather.
I admit that the snow looks very festive but it makes working and Christmas preps take longer than anticipated, not to mention the delays in deliveries.
The dog is loving the snow and continues to roll in it every day. I then have a house that smells like wet dog until she thaws out. The funniest thing she did this week was after an invigorating walk in the snow - her paws must have been extremely chilly - she came in - lay infront of the radiator and placed all 4 paws on the red hot radiator. I thought she might burn herself but she just lay there smiling. Yes my dog smiles.........
